Kingsbridge #13

Hello family! How are you all doing? It was so good to talk to you all on Sunday. It made me miss you all! I can't wait to be together again, that will be so great :) Mom! I don't know how you guessed it, but I was busy shopping! You should be so proud of me! It was awful, but I finally did it. I came away with one new shirt so that was good Haha. Next week I will go to the city to get my glasses and go to the temple. So that will be good. I miss being able to see people's faces and stuff. Good thing I'm not driving. Oh mom! Good news,  I got your package! The sad news is I opened it, put the shirts in the missionary closet and someone took the black one. But one of the missionaries knows who it was and they are going to try to get it back.

Well I realized that a lot of crazy things have been happening recently. I kinda just brushed it off as they came but then sister Lopez and I stopped to think about it and we realized just how crazy things have been. Ok here is what has gone down:

1. We saw a Drug deal go down right in front of us. Some guy pulled some drugs out of his pants, gave it to this girl and walked off.
2. We Walked into a crime scene. The police came up to us and told us that we should probably get out of there
3. We Taught a prostitute
4.We have an investigator that does PCP and cocaine.
5. We overheard how a woman had plans to murder her husband but then her hitman was put in jail before he could finish the job
6. We were stopped by some NYPD agents who asked us why we were in the neighborhood we were. They asked us some questions and told us to be safe. Later we saw them corner some guy. It looked like he was being arrested.
7. People are always selling illegal videos and other things on the subway. One time a man ran full speed into a subway right as the doors were closing. Then he exclaimed "WHOO! I was getting chased by 4 security guards but I made it!" Then looking at me he said "I just stole these!" While holding up some item And then immediately he went around asking if anyone wanted to buy what he had stolen. It was ridiculous.

Haha after we listed it off, we realized we do live in a pretty crazy area! Crazy things go down. But after a while, it becomes less shocking. You expect crazy things to happen.

Well I kinda got you up to date on everything on Mother's Day. That was so great. I really hope you all can come pick me up in NY when my time comes. That would be so fun. :) well I love you all so much! Have a fantastic week!

Kingsbridge #12

PART 1

Hello family!!!

I can't believe that I will get to talk to you so soon! I felt like Christmas Skype just happened! Man time is flying by soooooo so so fast!! So to answer some of your questions mom, the Easter APF was something we thought of but other Zones had already done similar things before. We did it at Fordham which is the busiest part of the Bronx in this area. It was about a 7 minute walk from the church. The manhattan zone did a chalk drawing of the Plan of Salvation on Union square. They taught people the Plan of Salvation while walking through a big drawing of it on the ground. That one actually made it into Desert News. So did a shoe shining APF they did in Harlem. They had a free shoe shine and taught people the gospel while they were shining their shoes! We've done train tracting and the family history thing and other church tours. There is a lot of interesting and creative ways that you can spread the gospel. You just need to find a way to have people talk to you. Recently we have been trying to contact more using the Mormon messages videos that the church puts out. That has been cool.

Well this week we started teaching a lady who wants to meet every day!!! Isn't that awesome?! The only problem is that she is struggling with drugs. Her driving motivation is to get clean so she can gain custody of her daughter. So she is coming to addiction recovery class with us and meeting daily. She is reading and keeping commitments! It is so sweet!

The other sweet things was that we had 10 lessons in two days! That was awesome! We hope to keep it strong for the rest of the week, :) I am so sorry this is short. Transfer day is always hard to have time to do everything. I will try to write more later today if I can.

Well I love you all so much!!

PART 2

Sister Lopez and I are staying for one more cycle (Yaya) we are going to rock it this cycle!! I am way excited. We just got a new roommate. I got to see sister Wilkes, sister Matthew and sister Steele at transfers!!! That was so fun. It is POURING rain right now. Dumping!!! We had to take all the luggage from I wood chapel and now we are heading out back into the rain to get groceries, scarf some food down and then to go to our appointment with B (the one w/ drug issues who wants to meet daily.)

I'm really sorry I ran out of time today to write more. I loved your email! The boys are so cute I am going to die!!! Haha playing missionaries and attorneys. That is just so cute!

Well I love you! Got to go
